The Facilities Management School (FMS) was created in response to Public Law 111-308: Federal Building Personnel Training Act of 2010 (FBPTA), which requires agency FM personnel to have the necessary competencies to effectively manage federal buildings. The FMS provides the VA Construction and Facilities Management workforce with a structured, competency-based curriculum in the areas of building operation and management, construction safety and occupational health, fire safety, electrical power generation, HVAC operation and maintenance and many more.
Effective December 14, 2012, Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Facilities Management School (FMS) has launched an improved course registration process for FMS approved courses. Please use email@example.com to register for all FMS approved vendor provided courses. Emails to this inbox will be monitored by the Office of the Registrar (OOR) at the VA Acquisition Academy. To request enrollment please submit the course name, course number, vendor name, course location and course date(s). OOR will enter the course information in TMS and provide course access information.
