The VA Facilities Management School (FMS) Governing Board is delegated the responsibility and accountability for governance of the VA FMS by agreement between the VA sponsoring organizations.  The governing board has the following roles, responsibilities, and decision making ability as specified in the charter:

  • Provide strategic oversight and direction to include performance goals and measures of effectiveness
  • Approve annual operation plan
  • Approve business processes, roles, responsibilities, and accountabilities
  • Approve VA FMS operating structure and staffing plan
  • Approve career paths, competencies, curricula, and course-specific methodologies
  • Approve operating budget
  • Charter subordinate working groups to support the VAFMS as required
