PM Team Workshops

Group silhouette - 100% Free for VA Employees - Are You part of a Program or Project? Is it making progress? A Collaborative environment to gain control of your project.

The Program Management Team Workshop (PMTW) is a unique training initiative that has been custom designed for the program leaders and project managers overseeing the mission critical programs and/or project investments.  The workshop design complements the Secretary’s initiative to ‘implement consistent management practices across the enterprise.’

These workshops isolate and address program management impediments within critical programs or projects that are negatively impacting the cost, schedule, performance or customer satisfaction.

The PMTWs are organized around your critical program or project, and are attended by the supporting program/project team, to analyze gaps within the management practices, formal documentation and reporting mechanisms.  Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:  Program Goal Statement, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Program Requirements, Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Acquisition Package, Risk Management Plan, Stakeholder Management Plan, and other critical management disciplines.

At the conclusion of each workshop, the VA Program Managers will receive the actual project management artifacts for their specific program, which are developed by the VA program team, with expert guidance and hands-on assistance from our practitioners.

The Value to the Government

  1. Consistent management disciplines/processes/artifacts that has been learned, applied and implemented wholly by an entire program team that directly and immediately improves a performance impediment.
  2. A sustainable process improvement that is repeatable across other programs and program teams.
  3. An improved management framework for federal leadership to improve transparency and oversight of program management performance.
