The Acquisition Internship School

Young interns interacting

The award-winning Acquisition Internship School (AIS) offers two training programs for those with an interest in pursuing a career in federal acquisitions. Both programs are cohort-based holistic programs designed to prepare participants for entry level federal contract specialist positions in the VA and other federal agencies. Founded in 2008, AIS has created many innovative practices which have allowed our graduates to thrive in their careers.

The two programs, the Acquisition Intern Program (AIP) and the Warriors to Workforce (W2W) Program, are competency-based and include the technical training required for the Federal Acquisition Certifications in Contracting (FAC-C), Levels I and II. The Bridge Program is designed for current contract specialists holding a FAC-C Level I certification who desire training to achieve the Level II certification. Additional professional skills training is included in all programs which includes communications, leadership, risk management, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills to prepare graduates for their careers.
