The VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Supply Chain Management (SCM) School’s global vision is to create an innovative and high quality academic environment that is the supply chain school of choice for the VA and other federal government agencies. The curriculum offered by the school will strengthen the knowledge, skills, and abilities of the supply chain and logistics workforce to implement a more standardized, cost-effective, and streamlined federal supply chain resulting in measurable return on investment. The VAAA SCM School will provide a training curriculum to address five general competencies and sixteen technical competencies to ensure the VA logistical workforce completes all training requirements based on their job description, roles, and responsibilities. These competency groups will be mapped to required training curriculum and courses will be offered to reinforce and build upon the identified learning objectives.
The training will encompass four levels of technical expertise as the program continues to grow and mature. This competency based training model will enhance the skills of the logistics management workforce and create a more comprehensive and structured approach to employee development. The VAAA SCM School will establish itself as having an organizational culture of excellence, efficient, and effective supply chain management training through streamlined daily operations.
This program will provide a career development model to the logistics workforce, and it will enhance the professional skills and abilities of professionals within VA.
