Construction Contracting

Courses in the construction track provide an overview of this specialized area of contracting and cover PL 92-582, the Brooks Architect-Engineers Act, as well as the spectrum of issues associated with acquisition planning through and including the closeout process.  VAAA Construction-related classes include:  CON 243 - Architect-Engineer Services Contracting, CON 244 - Construction Contracting, and FQN 104 - Construction Claims.  The delivery method for these offerings is face-to-face instruction.

Leasing

The VA has significant resources invested in leased space across the nation including direct leases and GSA space assignments.  The VAAA leasing curriculum is comprised of five courses designed to provide the student with a sound basis for writing, analyzing, and negotiating VA leases.  Specific classes include:  FCN 406 - Lease Acquisition Training (LAT), FCN 408 - Cost and Price Analysis of Lease Proposals, FCN 409 - Techniques of Negotiating Federal Real Property Leases, FCN 411 - Federal Real Property Lease Law and FCN 412 - Lease Administration.  The delivery method for these offerings is face-to-face instruction.

Specialized/Advanced Acquisition and Contracting Courses

These courses foster consistent technical competencies and standards, related to the Federal acquisition function.  The delivery method for these offerings is face-to-face instruction.
